Your mic stays muted. Your camera stays off. Until you choose to talk.
Meeting Mute is an Android app for Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. When your microphone or camera turns on and you did not choose to talk, it presses the meeting app's own button to turn it back off, usually within a second.

How it works
- Turn on the guard once. Meeting Mute uses Android's accessibility service. Before it reads anything it shows you exactly what it reads, what it does and what it keeps, and asks you to agree. You then switch it on in Android's Accessibility settings, where you can switch it off any time.
- Join your meetings as usual. While the Teams or Meet screen is open, the guard watches that app's mute and camera buttons. If one turns on and you have not chosen Talk, it presses it back off.
- When you want to speak, tap Talk. Talk is in the Meeting Mute notification and in a Quick Settings tile. The mic guard pauses until you mute again in the meeting app; then it is back. The camera stays guarded.
What it reads, and what it keeps
- It reads only the mute and camera buttons in Teams, Meet and its own demo meeting, to see whether each one is on or off. It does not read your meetings, chats, names or anything else on the screen, and nothing in other apps.
- Nothing about you is saved or sent. What it reads is not stored and never leaves your phone. No account, no analytics, no ads.
- The app's network use is two things: Google Play Billing, for buying and checking a plan, and a small button-rules file it downloads from meetingmuteapp.com at most once a day while the guard is on, so a Teams or Meet update can be matched without waiting for an app update. That download sends no account, device identifier or meeting data; you can switch it off in Settings.
Honest limits
- It reacts after the fact. Your mic or camera can be on for a moment before the guard turns it off. It is a guard, not a lock, and it is not a substitute for care in a confidential meeting.
- It works only while the meeting screen is open on your phone. With the meeting in the background, nothing is guarded, and the notification tells you so.
- Teams and Meet only. Zoom hides its controls from apps like this one, so Meeting Mute does not work with Zoom.
- Android only. There is no iPhone version, because iPhone apps cannot control other apps' buttons.
- Your own mic and camera only. It never touches other people's.
Free and Pro
The guard covers your first 10 meetings each month for free. Teams and Meet share the same 10, and the demo never counts. From the 11th meeting in a month the guard is off for that meeting, and the app says so. Don't need the guard for a meeting? Tap Skip in the first two minutes and it won't count.
Pro covers every meeting. It comes three ways: a monthly plan, a yearly plan, or a lifetime purchase. The monthly and yearly plans are subscriptions through Google Play that renew until you cancel; you can cancel any time in Google Play. Lifetime is one payment. Prices are shown in Google Play and in the app.
Try the demo
Meeting Mute has a practice meeting inside the app. Turn the microphone or camera on and watch the real guard turn it back off, with the time it took. Your phone's real microphone and camera are not used, and you don't need Teams or Meet installed. It is the first thing the app offers: on the first screen, tap "Just looking? Try the demo".
